About The Position

The Ramp Agent (Customer Service Agent) at Delta Air Lines is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft. This role involves ensuring timely connections by guiding aircraft from gate positions, safeguarding cargo from damage, and operating ground equipment. Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Pass a physical ability test (PAT).
  • Ability to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.

Responsibilities

  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft.
  • Guide incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions to ensure timely connections.
  • Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather.
  • Operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas.
  • Use baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage to customer destinations.
  • Prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
