About the position

At Piedmont Airlines, we are excited to share our passion for aviation with you! We are looking for a motivated and reliable professional to join our team as a Ramp Agent in our Ground Handling Department. This position is crucial to our operations as it involves baggage handling and servicing aircraft in a fast-paced outdoor airport environment. As a Ramp Agent, you will be expected to keep both the company goals and customer expectations in mind while completing your daily tasks. The successful candidate will undergo and complete the Ramp Agent training course, which is essential for this role. The Ramp Agent position is primarily responsible for below-the-wing servicing of the aircraft, which includes loading and unloading baggage and cargo, operating motorized service vehicles and equipment, guiding and parking aircraft, performing cabin maintenance tasks, and de-icing aircraft. You will work as part of a team to provide excellent customer service and meet corporate objectives. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask, and a commitment to meeting company goals in a high-energy environment. This position reports directly to the General Manager and involves working in an airport ramp environment, which is subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels. The role may require working all shifts, including weekends, nights, holidays, and/or irregular shifts. Physical requirements include frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, and climbing up and down stairs, as well as handling objects up to 70 pounds and assisting passengers with disabilities, including pushing wheelchairs.
