The Seasonal Ramp Agent position at Sun Country Airlines is a critical role responsible for supporting peak season operations. This position involves a variety of tasks that ensure the safe and efficient handling of aircraft and customer baggage. Seasonal agents are accountable for preparing for aircraft arrival and departure, which includes readying necessary equipment such as tow vehicles, wheel chocks, and belt-loaders. They must ensure that ramp areas are safe and free of Foreign Objects Debris (FOD) to maintain operational safety. In addition to preparation, the role requires the safe and efficient loading and unloading of baggage, cargo, and mail of various weights and dimensions to and from aircraft and airport baggage areas. After receiving proper training, agents will operate ground service equipment to service the aircraft and its passengers. This includes handling heavy, motorized machinery such as tugs, tractors, belt loaders, bag carts, pushback tractors, deicers, and more. Agents will also be responsible for marshaling aircraft to and from gates, which involves directing, assisting, and parking all arriving, departing, and towed aircraft. The position also includes servicing aircraft as needed, which may involve interior cleaning, replenishing supplies, managing aircraft lavatories, window washing, providing potable water, and deicing. Agents are responsible for conducting aircraft security searches as required and must report any safety and operational issues in a timely manner. Following safety regulations is paramount, including the proper use of ground service equipment and wearing appropriate safety gear. Other duties may be assigned by management as necessary.
