About the position

The Ramp & Customer Service Agent at Horizon Air plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless travel experience for guests. This position involves both customer-facing and operational tasks, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Agents will assist with various travel needs, manage luggage, and perform essential ramp functions, all while embodying the company's values of safety, kindness, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with travel needs, including inquiries, baggage handling, ticketing, and boarding flights.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions performing below wing functions such as transporting baggage and cargo, loading and offloading luggage, and aircraft marshaling.
• Perform aircraft grooming and security searches.
• Assist and direct guests during boarding and gate duties, including making announcements and processing standby and upgrade requests.
• Process and secure guest luggage, maintaining luggage claims for damaged, delayed, or pilfered items.
• Load and offload luggage and cargo using conveyor belts.
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure complete guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system.
• Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
• Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel.
• Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification depending on work location.
• Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

• A minimum of 1 year of customer service or community service experience.
