About the position

The Ramp & Customer Service Agent at Horizon Air plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless travel experience for guests. This position involves both customer-facing interactions and essential ramp functions, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing various tasks. The agent will assist guests with travel needs, handle luggage, and perform safety and security checks, all while embodying the company's values of safety, kindness, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist guests with travel needs including inquiries, baggage handling, ticketing, and check-in processes.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions performing ramp functions such as transporting baggage and cargo, loading and offloading luggage, and aircraft marshaling.
  • Perform aircraft grooming and security searches as required.
  • Assist and direct guests during boarding and gate duties, including making announcements and processing standby and upgrade requests.
  • Process and secure guest luggage, maintaining records for damaged, delayed, or pilfered items.
  • Load and offload luggage and cargo using conveyor belts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure complete guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Ability to learn and operate a computerized reservation system.
  • Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
  • Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to participate in paid training that may require overnight travel.
  • Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification depending on work location.
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves
