About the position

The Store Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, ensuring strong customer service, achieving sales and profit objectives, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling store activities while fostering a positive work environment and community relations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly customer service.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via various communication methods.
  • Respond to customer grievances and ensure resolution of issues.
  • Implement company merchandising, operating, and sales initiatives to drive sales and manage expenses.
  • Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for profitability.
  • Communicate company goals and policies to department managers and employees.
  • Meet weekly with department heads to review sales plans and promotions.
  • Develop and maintain positive community relations and communication with vendors and corporate personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards and maintain store conditions.
  • Accountable for staffing, recruiting, hiring, and training within the store.
  • Control inventory levels and develop operating budgets.
  • Process required reports and maintain accurate inventory records.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of company practices and grocery department policies.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures.
  • Familiarity with computer software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email.
