About the position

The Range Operations Scheduler serves as a key member of the 56th Range Management Office, responsible for building accurate and effective schedules for the use of special use airspace and tactical aviation training ranges at the Barry M. Goldwater Range East. This position operates in a high-tempo environment, ensuring compliance with management objectives and providing technical guidance in range scheduling operations.

Responsibilities

  • Builds Range and Airspace Schedules for tactical aviation training.
  • Monitors scheduling operations initiatives to ensure conformity with management objectives and policies.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise regarding range scheduling.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 level or equivalent, including extensive technical knowledge of range scheduling operations.
  • Ability to determine issues that may prevent successful execution of proposed scheduling contracts.
  • Knowledge of current and proposed software designed to enhance command and control in executing range scheduling programs.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple functions simultaneously in a high-tempo environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of aircraft scheduling procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Special Use Airspace including Restricted Areas and Military Operating Areas (MOAs).
  • Experience with automated web-based flight scheduling systems.
