About the position

The Range Systems Supervisor - Radar at RGNext is responsible for leading and directing personnel in the operation, maintenance, calibration, repair, and upgrade of Eastern Range Radar Systems. This role involves providing customer service, overseeing training and documentation, managing staff scheduling, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The supervisor will also monitor system performance, assist in engineering modifications, and contribute to strategic objectives while ensuring productivity and quality goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction of assigned personnel for the operation, maintenance, calibration, repair and upgrade of Eastern Range Radar Systems
  • Provides customer service and support to internal/external customers for data products, maintenance activities, system upgrades and operational support
  • Oversees and maintains Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Qualification training/documentation of assigned personnel
  • Responsible for staff and system scheduling including work assignments, employee vacations, overtime assignments, and shift rotations
  • Assists employees with problem resolutions and conducts performance evaluations
  • Monitors Radar calibrations for systems trends and identifies corrective actions
  • Monitors Radar system performance during real-time launch activities and identifies deviations
  • Assists engineering personnel in identifying, developing, designing and implementing modifications to Radar systems
  • Contributes to the development of short and long range strategic objectives
  • Interfaces with customers to develop Radar requirements
  • Leads continuous process improvement efforts for Radar systems
  • Ensures department productivity and quality goals are met
  • Reviews, generates and/or coordinates technical documentation for operational requirements and modifications
  • Participates in technical contract proposals and meetings
  • Provides cost estimates on launch operations and/or proposals
  • Ensures timely reporting of instrumentation status changes and Radar Launch anomalies
  • Conducts meetings, briefings and presentations to coordinate department activities
  • Attends pre and post mission meetings associated with the Radar Super-System
  • Coordinates the operational use and maintenance of assigned facilities
  • Pursues initiatives to improve quality, efficiencies, and timeliness of enterprise solutions
  • Develops and integrates enterprise concepts and recommendations for best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five or more years of Radar Systems/Operations experience
  • Three or more years of leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
