About the position

The Rare Disease Account Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers and systems in the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) market. This field-based sales position focuses on building relationships with customer accounts, generating demand for company products, and ensuring a positive customer experience. The specialist will engage with healthcare providers, coordinate account strategies, and provide essential clinical information to improve patient health outcomes in the Charlotte territory.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall customer experience for stakeholders within target accounts.
  • Build relationships with providers and staff, acting as a cross-functional point of contact.
  • Develop a deep understanding of account objectives, strategies, and challenges to generate strategic insights.
  • Plan and conduct quarterly strategic planning sessions for key accounts with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate execution of account strategies and track progress against objectives.
  • Solicit feedback from account stakeholders to understand needs and become a trusted resource.
  • Provide approved disease and product information to members of the patient care team.
  • Support education and respond to questions from providers on product administration.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for care team stakeholders and coordinate with other customer-facing roles.
  • Plan and host medical education events within the designated territory.
  • Attend and support company presence at national and local congress/society events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical/medical industry or a high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
  • Keen interpersonal skills to interact with diverse individuals and influence senior management.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to convey complex scientific concepts.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to contextualize decisions into broader corporate strategies.
  • Technologically proficient with tools like MS Office Suite and iPad.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PharmD).
  • Minimum of 2 years current/recent experience in the PAH market.
  • Minimum of 2 years current/recent experience with rare disease products.
  • 2+ years of account management experience in the healthcare industry.
