Job type Full-time Full job description Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a Rate Analyst to join its Charlotte, NC office. The Rate Analyst is primarily responsible for timekeeper rate management and maintenance in financial system, data file loads, and maintenance and synchronization of rates in client e-billing systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Subject matter expert and application owner of rate management application. Maintains timekeeper rates following proper procedures; monitors internal firm rate mailbox and responds accordingly. Responds timely to requests for billing rates, models and/or schedules from directors and other stakeholders. Assists with the annual rate renewal process by reviewing current alternative fee arrangements and terms and preparing revisions and proposals. Monitors client rate expirations and prepares renewal schedules for presentation to relationship attorneys. Well versed in rate management methodologies in particular exception rate management for timekeepers, clients, and matters. Demonstrates proficiency with MS Excel formulas, functions, v-lookup, etc. for data collection, reporting and presentation. Adept at loading rates into firm billing systems and client e-billing systems. Updates and prepares departmental documentation as needed. Respond to and handle special projects and ad hoc information requests from managers, directors, and administrators. Displays a professional and positive attitude to attorneys and staff of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, the telephone, and in person. Stays current technically as a user. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Regular in-person attendance is required to perform essential functions of this interactive position. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business related field, or data analytics required. 3-4 years of experience working in a corporate / professional environment required; Law firm experience preferred. Working knowledge of matter management or e-billing software preferred. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel experience required. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights. May need to work more than the standard 37.5 hours per week to accomplish essential duties of the position.
