About the position

The Ratings Advisory, CPA position at Aon's Capital Advisory group involves providing tailored advice to clients regarding their capital management and rating agency needs. The role is client-facing and requires collaboration with internal teams to optimize clients' financial strategies and enhance their credit ratings. The position is hybrid, primarily based in New York, with opportunities for remote work depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support client relationships by advising on rating agency criteria and capital management strategies.
• Evaluate the impact of reinsurance and other capital solutions on clients' financial statements and credit ratings.
• Develop thought leadership research to assist clients in achieving optimal rating outcomes.
• Provide analytics and rating advisory support using rating agency capital models and financial forecasts.
• Research and analyze data and client financials through the lens of rating agency criteria, identifying alternative solutions to meet client goals.
• Assist in creating presentations and recommendations based on knowledge of rating agency methodologies.
• Build internal relationships within Aon and serve as a direct point of contact for clients.
• Track (re)insurance industry trends and translate insights into client recommendations.
• Participate in special projects and contribute to Aon's market presence.

Requirements

• 2+ years of insurance industry experience.
• CPA designation or working toward it is strongly preferred.
• Ability to analyze insurance company financial statements.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with industry databases (S&P Global Market Intelligence/SNL and/or BestLink) is a plus.
• Knowledge of insurance STAT and GAAP accounting concepts is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with data analysis and research concepts.
• Experience with rating agency and regulatory capital models is a plus.
• Focused with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills, client management, and communication capabilities.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to synthesize content from multiple sources.
• Ability to perform under time pressures and manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
