About the position

The Raw Material Planner Analyst at Saint-Gobain is responsible for managing all incoming raw materials to the Shakopee, MN facility. This role involves planning, ordering, and verifying the receipt of raw materials necessary for the production of finished goods. The planner collaborates closely with corporate planning to manage specified raw materials, utilizing scheduling tools and resources to optimize plant resources in alignment with forecasts and customer service objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with centralized planning to develop supply chain plans to meet customer demand and working capital targets.
  • Effectively manage the raw material inventory to support future production schedules and warehouse capacity.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of existing and future production planning and budgetary preparations.
  • Perform monthly raw material physical inventory assessments and cycle counts.
  • Contribute actively to cost reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain raw material master data to optimize the planning system.
  • Collaborate with production scheduling and manufacturing to enhance manufacturing work schedules.
  • Ensure raw material availability to support daily production and schedule conformance.
  • Communicate with raw material category managers regarding supply chain issues and complete vendor scorecards.
  • Work with the Quality team on raw material quality issues, returns, or vendor feedback.
  • Support Purchasing and Accounts Payable with vendor invoice resolution.
  • Attend all operational, production, and maintenance-related staff meetings.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as specified.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma; a 2 or 4-year degree preferred with equivalent experience considered.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the planning and movement of raw materials in a manufacturing setting.
  • Prior warehouse/logistics experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with good organizational abilities and follow-through.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
