About the position

The Lead Mammography Technologist at RAYUS Radiology is responsible for providing leadership and management to technologists in the mammography modality. This role emphasizes a patient-centered approach, ensuring that patients receive high-quality mammography services while maintaining professional standards and excellent customer service. The Lead Technologist will guide patients through the examination process, support team members, and enhance overall service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients before exams for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
  • Explain and prepare patients for mammography imaging procedures, including positioning them appropriately.
  • Perform routine and advanced mammography imaging procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust mammography scan parameters and utilize dose reduction techniques as needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and peers.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, promoting good safety habits.
  • Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and disinfect after each use.
  • Assist in the hiring process for new associates and coordinate their training and onboarding.
  • Lead regular team meetings and conduct one-on-ones with associates.
  • Monitor and approve timecards and participate in performance reviews.
  • Develop associate schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Evaluate workflow and implement process improvements for the team.
  • Support associates to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction.
  • Lead special projects and committees as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Mammography Technologist with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mammography procedures and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to maintain accurate patient records and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Experience in training and onboarding new staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in mammography from a recognized body.
  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Leadership training or experience in a supervisory role.
