About the position

The RBC GAM Summer 2025 Internship Program offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain experience within the Asset Management industry. In this role, the intern will support the RBC Global Asset Management distribution team on a range of projects that drive business development, including but not limited to distribution strategy, market intelligence, competitive analysis, business management, and other distribution related assignments. The internship is designed for rising juniors or seniors pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, providing a platform to apply academic knowledge in a practical setting. Interns will conduct research on prospective institutional clients and markets, making and presenting conclusions to assist the distribution team with RBC's overall distribution strategy. They will work closely with the Institutional Distribution and Business Management teams to support various efforts, including business development administration and strategy. Additionally, interns will liaise with the Marketing team to optimize e-distribution of marketing content and analyze engagement metrics. The role also involves providing analytical support to the Institutional Sales and Client Solutions teams as directed by respective team leads, as well as undertaking various other research projects related to the Asset Management industry. Interns will consolidate and analyze various distribution metrics to measure sales activity success and strategy plan objectives, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on prospective Institutional clients and markets, making and presenting conclusions to assist the distribution team.
  • Support the Institutional Distribution and Business Management teams in business development administration and strategy.
  • Liaise with the Marketing team to optimize e-distribution of marketing content and analyze engagement metrics.
  • Provide analytical support to the Institutional Sales and Client Solutions teams as directed by respective team leads.
  • Undertake various research projects related to the Asset Management industry.

Requirements

  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence within major.
  • Exceptional listening skills and well-developed communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to interpret client needs and work collaboratively as a team player.
  • Self-motivated with a relentless focus on detail and the ability to work in a hybrid environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and CRM systems.
  • Strong research, reporting, and technical skills.
  • Passion for financial markets and a growth mindset.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
