About the position

The RCCD College Bookstore Supervisor at Barnes & Noble College is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and operational support within a retail environment on college campuses. The Supervisor will assist the management team, oversee team members, and ensure the store operates smoothly while delivering outstanding service to students, faculty, and the academic community.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of time on the sales floor delivering, coaching, and modeling exceptional customer service.
• Help train and oversee the daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all departments in the store to provide support and guidance.
• Assist in resolving customer issues and complaints, escalating problems to management when necessary.
• Act as the Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the manager or at offsite locations.
• Assist with assigning work and providing direction to team members to manage multiple projects.
• Process sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience in a retail setting preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products.
• Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
