About the position
The RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I position at Zurich involves working remotely from a home-based office in Montana, focusing on field inspections and claims management for crop insurance. The role requires approximately 50% travel within designated counties to assess crop damage and communicate findings to farmers and agents. This position is integral to supporting America's agricultural community by providing expert claims adjustment services.
Responsibilities
- Complete field inspections with minimal supervision, including reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields and storage bins, and discussing findings with farmers on complex claims.
- Convey complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry professionals regarding claim situations.
- Perform fact-finding regarding crop damage, record information, and transmit loss information to determine potential indemnities accurately.
- Gather relevant facts utilizing applicable law and establish basic principles of negligence.
- Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
- Ensure legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
- Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
- Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel within the territory.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, and lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
