About the position

The RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I position at Zurich involves working with the Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team to provide insurance protection to farmers and ranchers across the U.S. The role requires conducting field inspections, assessing crop damage, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The adjuster will work from a home-based office in Kansas, with significant travel expected to cover the designated territory.

Responsibilities

• Completes field inspections and related responsibilities with minimal supervision, including reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers.
• Conveys complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry personnel regarding claim situations.
• Performs fact-finding regarding crop damage, records information, and transmits loss information to determine potential indemnities accurately.
• Gathers relevant facts, utilizing applicable law and establishing basic principles of negligence.
• Completes claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
• Ensures legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
• Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel within the territory.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., and work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.
