About the position

The RDBMS Database Developer at NTT DATA is responsible for developing and managing database solutions, primarily using Microsoft SQL Server. This role requires extensive experience in data modeling, data warehouse development, and database design practices. The developer will work with large data sources and ensure optimal performance through query optimization and tuning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server v2016 and above.
  • Create and modify tables, views, functions, and triggers.
  • Develop stored procedures using dynamic SQL.
  • Import and export data to/from SQL databases.
  • Work with large data sources (20+GB daily flat files) from various platforms.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries.
  • Apply memory management techniques and database partitioning for performance enhancement.
  • Write complex Python scripts for data manipulation using libraries like Pandas.
  • Utilize ETL tools for Big Data, preferably Talend.
  • Work with the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, and NoSQL databases.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server v2016 and above.
  • Advanced T-SQL skills.
  • Extensive experience in data modeling and data warehouse development.
  • Solid understanding of database design practices and normalization concepts.
  • Proven experience in a VLDB environment.
  • Experience with database monitoring, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of memory management techniques and common database tuning techniques.
  • Experience with Python scripting for data manipulation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Spark and other ETL tools for Big Data.
  • Knowledge of Tableau and other reporting tools.
  • Experience with Connectivity Tools (Connect Direct, SSH Tectia).
  • Familiarity with Enterprise scheduling tools (Autosys).
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
