About the position

The Maintenance Manager at Lowe's is responsible for leading a team of technicians in a Regional Distribution Center (RDC) to ensure the operational efficiency of various equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment, while also ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Maintenance Manager is tasked with training and developing Maintenance Supervisors and Mechanics, as well as identifying capital repair needs and managing contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technicians to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair broken equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is operational.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws regarding repair work.
  • Identify capital repair work and manage contractors for execution.
  • Train and develop Maintenance Supervisors, Mechanics, and Maintenance Utilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience in distribution center operations, or 7 years of experience in distribution center operations with increasing responsibilities.
  • Leadership experience with or without direct report responsibility.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching others.
  • Experience with repairing/maintaining systems such as conveyors, PLC controlled systems, electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, forklifts, HVAC, and basic plumbing.
  • Proven record of complying with safety requirements and building a culture of safety.
  • Certifications for performing supervisory electrical work in an industrial facility, if required by law.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using power equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks.
  • Familiarity with Crown lift equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and performing simple fixes to PLC programming.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibility.
  • Experience managing resources, time, and budgets.
  • Experience communicating with leadership at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading Corporate-led initiatives or in another Lowe's supply chain facility.
  • Bi-lingual skills, if applicable.
