About the position

The RDK QA & Triage Engineer role at Cognizant involves ensuring the quality and performance of networking systems and applications. The position requires a strong understanding of networking concepts, programming skills, and experience with observability and monitoring tools. The engineer will work collaboratively within an Agile team to enhance the functionality and reliability of services, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality and performance of networking systems and applications.
  • Utilize networking expertise to diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for building, testing, and monitoring applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams during sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Design and implement observability solutions using tools like ELK and Splunk.
  • Work with microservices architecture and contribute to database design and querying.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of CI/CD processes.

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and network hardware.
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting, C/C++, Java, Go, and Python.
  • Experience with Linux, embedded systems, and OS fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like ELK and Splunk.
  • Knowledge of database design and experience in writing complex queries.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with WiFi fundamentals and basics of DOCSIS.
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Cloud Associate, GCP, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with monitoring systems like Grafana/InfluxDB, Datadog, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with automation tools and CI/CD processes like Jenkins and Concourse.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Looker and Datadog.
  • Experience in designing or working with microservices architecture.
