About the position

The RDK Video Lead at Cognizant will be responsible for leading the delivery and architecture of Device Engineering initiatives related to RDKVideo middleware for various devices. This role involves working with a cross-functional team to develop innovative software solutions for the cable industry, focusing on media, graphics, connectivity, and security features. The position requires a strong background in embedded systems and programming, particularly in C/C++, as well as experience with Linux application development and networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and architecture for Device Engineering STB, SMARTTV, OTT Devices specific initiatives for RDKVideo middleware.
• Develop and monitor devices with DOCSIS and passive optical network technologies.
• Understand and work with low-level video software stacks and device drivers.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions effectively.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to deliver best value solutions.
• Adapt to changing priorities and take on challenges as they arise.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of RDK experience.
• Strong knowledge of network concepts.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming and Linux systems.
• Experience with Yocto and networking concepts.

Nice-to-haves

• Deep understanding of Set Top Box software stack.
• Experience with RDK video stack and system profiling.
• Native software development experience on Embedded Linux platforms.
• Understanding of Linux internals and media frameworks.
• Experience with CWMP, TR69, and TR135 protocols.
