About the position

The RDK Video Lead at Cognizant is responsible for leading the delivery and architecture of Device Engineering initiatives related to RDK-Video middleware for various media devices. This role involves overseeing the integration of backend systems for UI/UX, content protection, and security features, while ensuring high-quality software solutions are developed for the cable industry. The position requires a strong technical background in embedded systems, programming, and networking, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and architecture for Device Engineering initiatives related to RDK-Video middleware.
• Oversee integration of backend systems for UI/UX, content protection, and security features.
• Develop and monitor devices using DOCSIS and passive optical networks.
• Understand and work with low-level video software stacks.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-value solutions.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience with RDK and embedded C/C++ programming.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems and application development.
• Experience with networking concepts and device monitoring.
• Proficiency in using tools like Jira, Confluence, Git, and Gerrit.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Deep understanding of Set Top Box software stack.
• Experience with emerging trends in system profiling (CPU, GPU, NPU, TPU).
• Familiarity with Linux Open-source frameworks like Yocto and media frameworks like Gstreamer.
• Delivery experience with CWMP, TR69, and TR135 protocols.
