About the position

The ReSET Room Assistant plays a crucial role in this transformation by monitoring the ReSET Room under the direct supervision of the Principal and the SEED Department. This position is designed to provide trauma-informed care and practices that align with the strategic goals of the school district, particularly those related to the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) standards. The ReSET Room Assistant will work closely with both Special Education Resource students and General Education students, providing necessary interventions and supports to foster a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be a courageous thinker and doer, ready to navigate the complexities of the educational landscape from day one. They will be expected to present innovative ideas to address systemic issues and execute sustainable plans that lead to meaningful transformation. Responsibilities

  • Monitor the ReSET Room under the direct supervision of the Principal and SEED Department.
  • Provide trauma-informed care and practices in accordance with strategic goals of SCS aligned to CASEL standards.
  • Deliver interventions and supports for SPED Resource students and General Education students.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of educational programs and strategies.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree, or two years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours).
  • A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test and one year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.
