The Penn State College of Medicine, located in Hershey, PA, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Project Coordinator for the REACH (Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health) program. This national initiative is administered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and aims to reduce health disparities among racial and ethnic groups. The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of various projects focused on improving health outcomes related to nutrition, physical activity, early care and education, and vaccine education specifically targeting the Hispanic and Latino communities in central Pennsylvania. In this role, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks including the development and design of project materials, assisting in the preparation of interim and final reports, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation. The coordinator will also be involved in preparing grant applications and HSPO documentation, as well as contributing to the writing of scientific papers for publication. A significant part of the job will involve gathering, entering, and analyzing community-level data using the REDCap data collection tool. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of producing high-quality work, and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong planning and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Local and regional travel will be required for this position, and while being bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement. This is a limited-term position funded for one year from the date of hire, with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability.
