About the position

Kforce's client, one of the world's largest financial institutions, is seeking to hire a 6-person scrum team of React Java AWS Engineers in Wilmington (DE), Plano (TX), and New York City (NY). This position offers a quick path to full-time employment with the client. It is important to note that the Lead, VP Titled, Hands-on Developer must be located in Wilmington, DE (Philadelphia Area) and will be responsible for mentoring a team of mobile application and full-stack developers, fostering collaboration and growth within the team. The role involves executing software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with an emphasis on innovative thinking to build solutions and address technical problems. The successful candidate will create secure and high-quality production code while maintaining algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. Additionally, they will produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring that design constraints are met through software code development. The engineer will gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to support the continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Proactively identifying hidden problems and patterns in data will be crucial, as these insights will drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. The candidate will also contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies, while adding to a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Strong skills around object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD), data structures, algorithms, design patterns. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in a front-end technology either React/ReactJS, Redux, Angular/AngularJS, ExtJS, JQuery, NodeJS, or other Web frameworks.
  • Proficient in coding in Java.
  • Advanced in two or more technologies - Functional Programming, BPMN, Microservices, RESTful web services development, JMS, Kafka, Hibernate.
  • Experience with JDBC/JPBA frameworks such as Hibernate or MyBatis.
  • Experience developing with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Karma, Protractor, Jasmine, Mocha, Selenium, and Cucumber.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cloud Native architecture Azure/AWS, Containerization/Kubernetes/Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, Non-Functional requirements like Resiliency, performance, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
