About the position

Insight Global is seeking a React Native CTV Developer for a prominent media and entertainment client. This position is a remote opportunity that operates on Pacific Standard Time and is structured as a contract-to-hire role. The selected candidate will join a dedicated team responsible for enhancing the Connected TV experience. This team is under pressure to meet tight deadlines for launching a new suite of features across six platforms, which include Video on Demand, bookmarks, favorites lists, and known authentication/known profiles. As the primary React Native developer on the CTV team, the individual will be tasked with new feature development, enhancements, bug fixes, and code deployment. This is a greenfield project, meaning the developer will be responsible for building the application from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing multiple React Native applications for smart TVs, iOS, or Android platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and enhancements for the Connected TV experience.
• Fix bugs and deploy code for the application.
• Work on a greenfield project, building the application from scratch.
• Collaborate with the team to meet tight deadlines for feature launches across multiple platforms.
• Mentor junior developers and take on lead responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• 7+ years of development experience in software engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience specifically with React Native development for smart TVs, iOS, or Android.
• Experience in building multiple React Native applications, with a preference for those built from the ground up.
• Strong understanding of React principles including virtual DOM, component lifecycle, component state, hooks, and props.
• Proficiency in React Native tools and technologies such as Visual Studio Code, Jest, and ESLint.
• Solid working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and JSON.
• Current relevant experience developing for SmartTV, set-top, or OTT platforms.
