About the position

We are seeking an experienced React Native Developer to join our team in Cincinnati, OH, on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mobile app development using React Native, with a track record of building performant mobile applications on both the iOS and Android platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code and create visually aesthetic user interfaces.
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design, business, and engineering teams, to define, design, and ship new features.
• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
• Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
• Follow best practices for coding and design, ensuring the application's scalability and security.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in React Native with a solid understanding of its core principles.
• Proven track record of delivering React Native mobile applications.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
• Deep knowledge of React Native specific workflows such as Redux, Axios, or React Navigation.
• Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle (Android Studio, IntelliJ).
• Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest or Mocha.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, MobX, or Flux.
• Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage.
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
