About the position

CODE Staffing is currently seeking a highly skilled REACT Team Lead and Senior Developer to join our dynamic team. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work, although candidates based in Houston, TX are preferred for permanent on-site work. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in JavaScript development, particularly with React.js, and will be responsible for leading a team of developers while ensuring the software quality of our products. You will be involved in various development projects that may require adapting to different technologies as needed for modern business applications and systems. Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing them according to well-known React.js workflows, such as Redux. You will also coordinate with other team members working on different layers of the infrastructure, emphasizing collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, and delivering high-quality products. This role requires availability during Central time zone business hours, and while remote work is an option, occasional travel may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers and be responsible for the product's software quality
• Develop new user-facing features using React.js
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
• Mentor developers to assist in developing/improving their skill set

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience
• 3+ years of ReactJS development
• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
• Thorough understanding of container-based deployment principles, including Docker and deployment to Kubernetes
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Server-side development, including the ability to write high performance and maintainable server-side APIs using express
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Understanding of TypeScript and the role type systems play in JavaScript
• Expert level at git source control, including best practices for a team using pull requests
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
• Modern web security methodologies and familiarity with both relational databases and non-relational databases (NoSQL, Elastic Search, Time Series database (TSDB)
• Asynchronous programming including Promises, async/await, and ES7 generators, along with state management using Redux
• Familiar with command line tools with Bash/ZSH (Linux or Mac)
• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science preferred. High school diploma or GED required.

Nice-to-haves

• Server-side development (Node.js), Docker experience a plus
