About the position

The UI React Developer position is a critical role within a top solution provider to the Department of Defense (DOD). This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while contributing to significant projects. The ideal candidate will possess an active Secret clearance and a strong understanding of agile software development practices. They will be an integral part of an Agile Scrum team, collaborating closely with software developers, stakeholders, and end users to support the customer's mission and growth objectives. In this role, the developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the front-end code base for multiple data science web applications using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. They will integrate UI/UX designs into efficient user interfaces and web app front-ends, ensuring a seamless user experience. The developer will also be tasked with developing and executing unit tests for software components, collaborating with the software development team using Git, and designing custom software capabilities for an Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Platform with limited oversight. The position requires active participation in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives. The developer will analyze complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions, ensuring product quality and timeliness of work. They will provide advice and guidance, resolve problems to meet objectives, and offer periodic performance reports. Additionally, the developer will contribute to the creation of best practices and procedures, enhancing quality and productivity within the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the front-end code base for multiple data science web applications using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Integrate UI/UX designs into efficient user interfaces and web app front-ends.
• Develop and execute unit tests for software components.
• Collaborate with a software development team using Git.
• Design, develop, and implement custom software capabilities for an Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Platform with limited oversight.
• Act as a member of a product team supporting teammates and collaborating with a positive attitude to ensure product and team success.
• Provide significant improvements to the platform being supported.
• Participate actively in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Analyze complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions involving scheduling, technology, and methodology.
• Ensure product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports.
• Provide input on best practices and procedures creation.
• Develop new and refine existing processes to enhance quality and productivity.

Requirements

• College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Deep technical expertise in software design and implementation with reusable components.
• 10+ years of related technical experience for Senior level or 16+ years for Subject Matter Expert (SME) level in software design, development, and implementation.
• 7 years of experience using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript/JavaScript for Senior level or 10 years for SME level.
• 7 years of experience building applications with React.js.
• Experience developing applications in remote (cloud-based) environments.
• Experience using RESTful interfaces and working with back-end developers to define new interfaces.
• Experience with TypeScript and React.
• Ability to work on unusually complicated problems and provide highly creative solutions.
• Ability to apply estimation techniques to software development efforts.
• Ability to identify and manage risk.
• Strong collaboration skills and desire to work within a team.
• Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and self-starter attitude.
• Methodical in documenting and testing code.
