About the position

The UI React Developer position is a critical role within a top solution provider to the Department of Defense (DOD), focusing on delivering high-quality software solutions in a fully remote environment. The ideal candidate will possess an active Secret clearance and a strong understanding of agile software development practices. This role requires collaboration with a highly productive Agile Scrum team, where the developer will contribute to the mission and growth objectives of the customer. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the front-end code base for multiple data science web applications, utilizing technologies such as HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. In this position, the developer will integrate UI/UX designs into efficient user interfaces and web app front-ends, ensuring a seamless user experience. The role also involves developing and executing unit tests for software components, collaborating with a software development team using Git, and designing custom software capabilities for an Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Platform. The developer will actively participate in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives, contributing to the overall success of the product and team. The candidate will analyze complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions, ensuring product quality and timeliness of work. They will provide advice and guidance, resolve problems to meet objectives, and offer periodic performance reports. Additionally, the developer will contribute to the creation of best practices and procedures, enhancing quality and productivity within the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the front-end code base for multiple data science web applications using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Integrate UI/UX designs into efficient user interfaces and web app front-ends.
• Develop and execute unit tests for software components.
• Collaborate with a software development team using Git.
• Design, develop, and implement custom software capabilities for an Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Platform with limited oversight.
• Act as a member of a product team supporting teammates and collaborating with a positive attitude to ensure product and team success.
• Provide significant improvements to the platform being supported.
• Participate actively in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Analyze complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions involving scheduling, technology, and methodology.
• Ensure product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports.
• Provide input on best practices and procedures creation.
• Develop new and refine existing processes to enhance quality and productivity.

Requirements

• College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Deep technical expertise in software design and implementation with reusable components.
• 10+ years of related technical experience for Senior level or 16+ years for Subject Matter Expert (SME) level in software design, development, and implementation.
• 7 years of experience using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• 7 years of experience building applications with React.js.
• Experience developing applications in remote (cloud-based) environments.
• Experience using RESTful interfaces and working with back-end developers to define new interfaces.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with DOD Secret clearance or higher.
• Experience with TypeScript and React.
• Experience working on unusually complicated problems and providing highly creative solutions.
• Ability to apply estimation techniques to software development efforts.
• Ability to identify and manage risk.
• Strong collaboration skills and desire to work within a team.
• Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a self-starter.
• Ability to document and test code methodically.
