About the position
Sylvan Learning Center is seeking dedicated Reading Teachers for part-time after-school tutoring, focusing on teaching reading and writing to students in grades K-7. The role emphasizes individualized learning plans and small group instruction, providing a supportive and enjoyable teaching environment without the typical burdens of lesson planning or grading.
Responsibilities
- Teach reading and writing to students in a small group setting of no more than three students.
- Utilize pre-planned lessons that are straightforward and engaging.
- Motivate and inspire students to achieve academic success.
- Work flexible hours, primarily on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree.
- Teaching credentials are a plus but not mandatory.
- Enjoyment in teaching and inspiring children.
- Punctuality and reliability in attendance.
- Local residency with reliable transportation.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
