About the position
The Fairview Park City Schools is seeking Reading Intervention Tutors for a twelve-week program aimed at providing intensive reading support to elementary students. The role involves implementing research-based reading interventions in a small group setting, with a focus on improving students' academic skills and self-efficacy. Tutors will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and utilize provided lesson plans and materials.
Responsibilities
- Implement research-based, intensive, explicit, and systematic reading interventions to small groups of students.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, principals, and support personnel to maintain consistency with student interventions.
- Coach students one-on-one and in small groups to assist in improving their academic skills and self-efficacy.
- Develop and administer a remediation program for students.
- Administer curriculum-based and standardized assessments to determine student progress and effectiveness of intervention strategies.
- Utilize current technology, including computers, in the tutoring process.
Requirements
- Valid ODE Teacher Certification/Licensure - Elementary K-8 or PreK-3 and K-12 Reading (preferred).
- Knowledge of Ohio Academic Content Standards and project-based personalized learning.
- Well-versed in evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Ability to work well with staff, students, and parents as a member of a team.
