About the position
The Reading Tutor position at PRIDE Learning Co involves providing in-home reading tutoring to a kindergarten student in Westpark, Irvine. The role requires a reliable and enthusiastic tutor who can implement a multisensory reading program designed to enhance phonics, spelling, fluency, comprehension, and writing skills. The tutor will work part-time, specifically from Monday to Thursday, between 1 PM and 3 PM, earning $30 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home reading tutoring to a kindergarten student.
- Implement a multisensory reading program that is fully scripted.
- Create and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Develop rapport with the student to foster a supportive learning experience.
- Communicate effectively with the student to motivate and encourage progress.
Requirements
- Experience in teaching or tutoring, preferably 1 year.
- Ability to commute to Westpark, Irvine, CA 92606.
- Possess an electronic device, such as a laptop, for tutoring sessions.
- Strong communication skills to engage and motivate students.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with school-age children.
- Background as an instructional assistant, ABA therapist, paraprofessional, teacher, substitute teacher, graduate student in education, or speech therapist assistant.
