About the position

The Ready Mix Driver position at Preferred Materials involves driving concrete mixers to various work sites while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle, performing regular maintenance, and handling physical tasks associated with loading and unloading concrete. The driver must navigate different terrains and conditions, ensuring safe delivery of materials to construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Drive concrete mixer to work sites and discharge load.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Hose down the rig to keep it clean.
• Walk on uneven and slippery surfaces at work sites and the plant.
• Lift and attach extension chutes weighing 30 to 50 pounds to the primary chute.
• Regularly lift 25 to 50 pounds as required.
• Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• Perform related duties such as lifting and moving transported materials.
• Familiarize with delivering to various construction equipment for loading/unloading.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Class A or B driver's license with current medical card.
• 1 year of related experience or training required.
• No DUI's within the last 2 years and minimal moving violations.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain respectful relationships with staff.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, sales tickets, and operating instructions.
