About the position
Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a Ready Mix Driver to operate ready mix trucks in a safe and professional manner. The position involves delivering products to various job sites, including both commercial and residential areas. The driver will be responsible for maintaining the equipment in a safe and clean condition, performing pre and post-trip inspections, and ensuring compliance with mix specifications after loading and at the job site. The role requires aligning the mixer drum under the disbursement chute at the plant, driving the ready mix truck to the unloading location, and operating the truck to release concrete into the designated area. After delivery, the driver must clean the truck to prevent concrete from hardening in the mixer and on the truck. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operates ready mix trucks in a safe and professional manner.
- Maintains equipment in a safe and clean condition.
- Performs pre and post-trip truck inspections.
- Verifies general compliance with mix specifications after loading and at job site.
- Aligns mixer drum under disbursement chute at the plant to receive product into the mixer truck drum.
- Drives ready mix truck to location for unloading.
- Operates ready mix truck to release concrete down truck chute into area to be poured with concrete.
- Cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck.
- Places and operates chutes to deliver product where directed.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or Class B.
- Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
