About the position

The position involves operating a concrete mixer truck to deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites, providing top-tier customer service while ensuring safety and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle to ensure safe operational order and report maintenance or repair issues.
• Navigate ingress and egress of the truck by using steps with grab bars present.
• Manipulate truck steering wheel, shifter, and other various levers and knobs necessary for operation of truck and associated equipment.
• Deliver ready-mix concrete to construction sites in a safe and efficient manner, obeying applicable laws and following dispatch instructions.
• Add materials (fiber, color or other additives) to concrete mix as needed.
• Ensure quality of product delivered, including checking slump and other specifications.
• Maintain communication with Dispatcher regarding deliveries.
• Check delivery tickets for special instructions and complete as required.
• Ensure proper materials are loaded safely and obtain necessary signatures.
• Rinse out drum and chutes, and dump slurry as required by established procedures.
• Collect money from customers and record transactions on customer receipt.
• Inform customers of new products or services and respond to their questions.
• Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle and perform minor field repairs as needed.
• Record sales and delivery information and maintain operator logs in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations.
• Assist other members of the workforce in different areas of production as needed.
• Participate in promoting an inclusive work environment.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B CDL unrestricted and current DOT medical card.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Safety-minded professional with good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
• Ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators, and other employees.
• Ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
• Must be a current member or able to join Local Operators #400 within 30 days of hire.
• Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
• Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

Nice-to-haves

• Commercial driving or equipment operating experience preferred; in a commercial or construction setting highly preferred.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Class A preferred.
