About the position

As a CBRE Real Estate Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger, managing financial controls, and preparing financial reports for management and shareholders. This role is part of the Controlling job function and requires attention to detail and adherence to standardized procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions regarding various accounting issues and reports.
• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and various other accounting statements or financial reports.
• Review the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications.
• Evaluate various accounting variances, reports, and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
• Maintain, record, and reconcile billings and accounts receivables for small to medium-sized clients, markets, or accounts.
• Build month-end accounting entries, reconcile discrepancies, and post to the general ledger.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and check transactions from the subsystem to ensure data is accurately sent.
• Examine financial statements and documents for conformance with accounting requirements and fundamentals.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
• Impact the quality of own work and work within standardized procedures and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 3 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and education in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
• Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
• Intermediate math skills, including the ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages and fractions.
