About the position

The Real Estate Accountant at Pete's Fresh Market is responsible for managing accounting functions related to commercial real estate properties and corporate entities. This role emphasizes adherence to the company's core values of Aesthetic, Quality, and Customer Service while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reports for multiple real estate properties.
• Analyze property income and expenses and provide accurate accounting for rental and leasing operations.
• Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and issuing payments to vendors.
• Create and set up accounts for new tenants.
• Charge rent and send out monthly statements to tenants.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Complete yearly CAM reconciliations.
• Collaborate with property managers, attorneys, and other stakeholders on financial matters.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (preferably in accounting) and a minimum of 2 years of equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and various accounting software.
• Experience in real estate property accounting is preferred.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Strong accounting and financial analysis skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
