About the position

The Real Estate Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, overseeing transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations specific to real estate investment and redevelopment. This part-time role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting skills to support the financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records for all projects, including flips, wholesales, and rentals.
• Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Monitor project budgets, expenses, and profitability on an ongoing basis.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Oversee payroll for part-time and full-time staff.
• Prepare monthly reports on project costs, forecasts, and variances for leadership.
• Reconcile bank accounts and manage cash flow for multiple real estate accounts.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax requirements and filings.
• Assist in financial forecasting and strategic planning for upcoming real estate projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in real estate or construction.
• Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
• Strong understanding of real estate transactions, including closing statements and tax implications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present financial data clearly.
