About the position

As a CBRE Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing a team of accountants who are responsible for delivering client financial reporting for assigned portfolios. This position is integral to the General Accounting function, where you will oversee the development and maintenance of accounting processes and procedures on a day-to-day basis. Your leadership will ensure that the team operates efficiently and effectively, providing high-quality financial services to our clients. In this role, you will be tasked with reviewing financial packages for accuracy before they are released to both internal departments and external clients. You will confirm the completion of various financial obligations, including debt payments, real estate taxes, sales taxes, and owner distribution payments. Additionally, you will assist with internal and external property transitions and audits as necessary, leveraging your expertise to suggest consulting opportunities based on your knowledge of the department's pricing platform. Your responsibilities will also include auditing monthly pricing worksheets and entering allocations into the accounting system, as well as evaluating accounts receivable reports to ensure reconciliations are complete. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with client agreements and verify that client fees are accurate according to the Management Agreement. Furthermore, you will review budgets and annual year-end recovery calculations to ensure timely completion. As a leader, you will provide formal supervision to your team, monitoring their training and development, conducting performance evaluations, and mentoring staff. You will oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees, coordinate daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, and set and track departmental goals. Your leadership will be characterized by modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values and influencing stakeholders to reach agreements. You will also be responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving day-to-day and moderately complex issues that may arise within existing systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review financial packages for accuracy before releasing to internal departments and external clients.

  • Suggest consulting opportunities based on knowledge of the department's pricing platform.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in real estate accounting software.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive approach.
  • Advanced math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
