About the position

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Real Estate Accounting Supervisor to join their team in Minneapolis. This role focuses on team management, coaching, mentoring, and quality control review within the accounting department. The supervisor will oversee financial reporting, budget reviews, and ensure accurate and timely reporting for the team's portfolio, while also leading process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the accounting team, providing coaching and mentoring.
• Review and approve financial reports and supporting schedules, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and operating expense reconciliations.
• Oversee the requirements for staff portfolios to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.
• Communicate proactively with Real Estate Management Teams and Ownership Representatives.
• Research and resolve open accounting issues and potential conflicts.
• Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with company values.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate accounting.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with JD Edwards and Yardi software.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced knowledge of Yardi, MRI, and JDE E1 software.
• Experience in leading process improvement initiatives.
• Mentorship experience.
