About the position

The Real Estate Accounting Supervisor at Ryan Companies US, Inc. is responsible for managing a team focused on quality control and mentoring. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, budget reviews, and ensuring accurate accounting practices within the commercial real estate sector. The supervisor will also engage with various teams to facilitate property acquisitions and transitions, while leading by example in alignment with company values.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team with a focus on quality control and performance appraisal.
• Review and assist in the preparation of annual budgets, reforecasts, and operating expense reconciliations.
• Oversee financial reporting requirements for staff portfolios, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and approve financial reports, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and cash flow projections.
• Communicate proactively with Real Estate Management Teams and other stakeholders.
• Research and resolve open accounting issues, minimizing potential conflicts.
• Supervise individual employees, including recruitment, promotion, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field.
• 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate accounting.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced knowledge of Yardi, MRI, and JDE E1 software.
• Experience in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
• Supervisory experience or mentorship equivalent.
