About the position
This position is for a rainmaker at a boutique law firm in Melville, New York, focusing on business, corporate, and real estate law. The role involves bringing in new business through marketing and networking, meeting with clients, negotiating contracts, and providing support to partners in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in corporate business transactions and commercial real estate, along with strong negotiation and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Bring in new business through marketing and networking to obtain new clients.
- Meet with clients and communicate with adversaries.
- Negotiate and draft various types of business contracts.
- Provide support to partners for their matters in a team environment.
- Review and negotiate various types of business agreements, commercial real estate leases, and financing documents.
- Conduct closings.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) Degree plus admission to the NY State bar.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Corporate and Commercial Real Estate matters.
- Experience with employment law and commercial litigation is a plus.
- Excellent writing, organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Outstanding client communication and management skills.
- Eager to be involved in business development with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Nice-to-haves
- A portable business and a business background are preferred.
Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from $125,000 to $150,000 annually.
