About the position

The Real Estate Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions and property management tasks for Golden Globe Real Estate Management Corp. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in accounting and bookkeeping, particularly in the real estate sector. The role involves handling lease agreements, tenant communications, and financial reconciliations, ensuring smooth operations within the property management team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage residential and commercial real estate transactions and property management.
  • Develop marketing initiatives and advertise vacant properties.
  • Assist in preparing lease documents and amendments.
  • Review and comment on landlord lease forms.
  • Abstract leases and enter pertinent information into the management system.
  • Track lease expiration dates and send out monthly tenant statements.
  • Process and deposit monthly rent checks from tenants.
  • Track real estate-related issues, including tenants' past due balances.
  • Assist in managing daily operations related to property management.
  • Help negotiate with brokers, developers, attorneys, property owners, and landlords.
  • Assist in negotiating pricing and contracts with contractors.
  • Coordinate marketing and community events.
  • Ensure all tenant maintenance requests are addressed by the maintenance crew.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and follow up with tenants on issue resolutions.
  • Process payable invoices and payments timely to avoid late mortgage payments.
  • Resolve billing problems and late payments to vendors.
  • Provide administrative support including data entry, mail merges, and filing.
  • Answer inbound calls from vendors and tenants.
  • Maintain an efficient office system for paper flow and filing.
  • Verify information in the computer system is accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree (Recent Grad Preferred)
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Yardi System, and Outlook
  • Basic accounting/bookkeeping knowledge, including bank reconciliation and account reconciliation

Nice-to-haves
