About the position

The Investment Accountant II at Nuveen Investments plays a crucial role in ensuring that investment accounting policies and procedures are accurately applied to accounting records. This position involves collaboration with various teams, including asset management and portfolio management, to prepare financial statements, support audits, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare certain SEC filings.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements including GAAP and/or statutory work papers and supporting schedules.
• Work directly with auditors to answer audit inquiries and provide additional documentation as needed.
• Analyze financial information to ensure compliance with investment accounting policies and procedures.
• Calculate performance returns.
• Seek guidance from senior Investment Accountants regarding complex issues.
• Prepare Funds' shareholder reports and certain support work-papers.

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, fund accounting, real estate accounting, and/or financial statement preparation.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Previous experience using Yardi and Workiva.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, fund accounting, real estate accounting, and/or financial statement preparation.
• CPA license or CPA Candidate.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
