About the position

True North Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Real Estate Loan Officer to join our team in Anchorage or Juneau. This full-time position offers a competitive salary based on experience, plus commission. As a member-owned, full-service credit union, our mission is to provide quality financial solutions for our members. The successful candidate will be responsible for interviewing mortgage applicants with a high level of accuracy and great attention to detail. This role requires excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to foster solid relationships with clients. Previous experience in the financial industry is preferred, but we are willing to train the right applicant. The pay will be determined based on experience (DOE).

Responsibilities

• Conduct loan applicant interviews to document income, debt, and credit history.
• Gather necessary applicant documentation.
• Maintain communication with applicants throughout the application process.
• Work closely with loan underwriters to ensure smooth processing of applications.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and service meet Credit Union standards.

Requirements

• Two to five years of related experience preferred.
• Two years of financial industry experience required, in addition to two years of real estate lending experience.
• Associate degree or completion of a specialized course of study or apprenticeship program.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of trust and diplomacy.
