About the position

The Real Estate Loan Operations Specialist at The First National Bank of Bastrop is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of loan files post-closing. This role involves reviewing documentation, maintaining collateral tracking systems, and responding to customer inquiries, all while adhering to bank policies and regulations. The position emphasizes excellent customer service and requires a strong understanding of banking procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform post-closing review of loan files for accuracy and completeness.
• Track and review final, signed closing packages from title companies and closing agents.
• Receive and record documentation on new and renewed loans and review for compliance.
• Review original loan documents to confirm all required documents are included and image all loan documents.
• Utilize a QC checklist to compare core system to source documents and ensure correct loan booking.
• Process funding for secondary market loans and process fee checks.
• Maintain collateral tracking system by entering documentation requirements according to policy.
• Respond to customer inquiries and loan payoffs via written and verbal communication.
• Process and prepare interim to permanent documents and update the system accordingly.
• Upload loan documents into the document imaging system.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of banking experience or loan support experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend various types of loan and related support documentation.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and apply written policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Good basic math and typing skills.
• Ability to use bank equipment and computer systems, including spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Ability to maintain objectivity and independence.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with document imaging systems.
• Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
