About the position

The Real Estate Manager at Starbucks plays a crucial role in the company's success by collaborating with Store Development Managers to manage the existing store portfolio and lead the selection and lease negotiations for future retail sites. This position involves extensive market research, strategic planning, and relationship management with landlords and city representatives to optimize lease value and ensure timely renewals.

Responsibilities

• Research new and existing submarkets through broker networks and market surveys.
• Meet with landlords and city representatives to discuss leasing opportunities.
• Manage all aspects of market development within a limited scope.
• Participate in strategic planning and market tours.
• Prepare letters of intent, confirmation letters, site surveys requests, pro formas, and site submittals.
• Coordinate design and construction issues with internal partners and landlords.
• Resolve legal and lease issues related to properties.
• Optimize and create long-term lease value for the company.
• Oversee negotiation of landlord issues, including lease renewals and expansions.
• Prepare and analyze lease evaluation packages, including proforma and financial reports.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of real estate deal making and negotiations experience.
• 3-5 years of project administration experience in chain store, retail, or commercial brokerage.
• 3-5 years of exposure to the commercial or retail industry.
• 3-5 years of financial planning and market analysis experience.
• Bilingual in French and English, with fluency in reading, writing, and verbal communication.

• Basic knowledge of budget estimating and data management.
