About the position

AW Morris Law PLLC, a mid-town Raleigh real estate law firm, is seeking a friendly and efficient Residential Real Estate Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior office experience and be proficient in operating office equipment such as copiers and scanners, as well as managing calendars within Outlook. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, and experience with SoftPro's ProForm is a must. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with a strong emphasis on keeping team members informed and up-to-date. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond positively to shifting demands is crucial. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up files in SoftPro and maintaining hard copies, preparing and sending engagement letters, information sheets, and wiring instructions to clients and real estate agents. You will also order HOA dues, homeowners insurance information, surveys, payoffs, and other required documents. Additionally, you will prepare seller documents, including deeds, lien waivers, FIRPTA forms, and other necessary paperwork. The position involves preparing powers of attorney for bank approval, closing documents such as CDs and HUDs, and loan documents for closing. After closing, you will prepare letters, envelopes, and FedEx labels to disburse checks. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 per year, based on experience. Responsibilities

  • Set up files in SoftPro and in hard copy.
  • Prepare and send engagement letters, information sheets, and wiring instructions to clients and real estate agents.
  • Order HOA dues, homeowners insurance information, surveys, payoffs, and other required documents.
  • Prepare seller documents, including deeds, lien waivers, FIRPTA forms, and other required documents.
  • Prepare powers of attorney for bank approval.
  • Prepare closing documents such as CDs and HUDs.
  • Prepare loan documents for closing.
  • Prepare letters, envelopes, and FedEx labels to disburse checks post-closing.

Requirements

  • NC Paralegal Certification or applicable office experience.
  • Proficiency in SoftPro's ProForm is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written and oral.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to respond quickly to shifting demands.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain consistent punctuality and job attendance.
  • Experience searching and abstracting title in NC is a plus.

Nice-to-haves
