The Account Manager position at our local transportation and logistics company is a vital role that requires a dedicated individual to serve as the primary point of contact for our clients, primarily Truckload shippers. This position operates under the direction of the Director of Account Management and is responsible for ensuring seamless communication between our clients and their suppliers. The Account Manager will handle the review and processing of customer orders, ensuring complete execution for all shipments within their assigned portfolio. Timely delivery and customer satisfaction are paramount, making this role crucial to our operations. In this role, the Account Manager will accept and build loads from customers, requiring a thorough understanding of how loads are sent to us. Acknowledging receipt of these loads and building them accurately is essential. The position demands proficiency in navigating various customer portals to provide transparency regarding the status of loads. The Account Manager will also be responsible for identifying issues, utilizing resources to determine the best course of action, and implementing effective solutions. Responding to customer inquiries and providing timely updates is a critical aspect of this role. The Truckload Account Manager will manage customer bid boards and TMS systems, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of customer processes and identifying areas for improvement. This role also involves processing all inbound, outbound, and return shipments using TMS (Mercury Gate) software and other tools to guarantee accurate and timely delivery. Building strong relationships with customers is essential, as the Account Manager will work to expand their portfolio and enhance customer loyalty. Additionally, the Account Manager will oversee customer issue resolution, engage in daily account success, and quote all waterfall and spot opportunities efficiently. Internal relationships are also important, as the Account Manager will collaborate with internal teams and leaders who interact with their accounts. The role includes measuring KPIs and financial success, conducting customer-facing reporting, business reviews, and developing strategic account plans. After-hours exception management and freight claims processing are also part of the responsibilities.
